Witchcraft for Witches in the Broom Closet 🤍

Witchcraft for Witches who are in the Broom Closet!

Tips and tricks for the secret witch. A lot of witches who are new to the craft have to adjust their practice to the comfort of their family, spouse, and even children. While this isn’t ideal for the everyday witch, it is a reality for some! Today I wanted to write a short lesson on some tips and tricks for keeping your practice secret from others (for your own safety) 🤍💫

#1 - Reading Books Online

Reading books online can be a easy alternative to having handheld books. Most witchcraft books have very prominent illustrations and wording that screams “THIS IS A WITCHCRAFT BOOK” loudly…. so a good alternative is using apps like apple books, kindle, and also even spotify for audiobooks that you can listen to in private! Most platforms have all of the books you can find is bookstores so you should be covered when it comes to variety!

#2 - Create an online Book of Shadows

This is one of my favorites! There is nothing wrong with needing to make a digital BOS, this is a great tip for witches in the broom closet and also witches who don’t have the physical ability to write a lot and also the financial ability to buy supplies to create a huge BOS! My online teaching platform patreon has slowly became an online BOS for me and my personal practice! A few things I recommend is the new apple Journal app, you can add in pictures and sections, I also recommend making a album in your photo gallery of photos you have accumulated online with tips, info, and spells on them. for example, my facebook page has a lot of info, so if you would like to go through and save it in an album so you can easily access it, that would be a great form of a BOS! If you finally are able to have freedom, I do recommend keeping a notebook with the information that you find useful for safekeeping! You can use google docs, word, and any writing platform to keep your info so it can be printed out or saved for the future! Get creative with it!

#3 - Using Non-Conspicuous Tools

Now if you do not have any way to safely use any tangible items in your practice, please do not risk anything, but if you have privacy available these are some tools that don’t look unordinary or suspicious.

• Birthday Candles

• Home Candles/Wax Burners

• Twine

• a Deck of playing Cards (which can be used for divination and in place of tarot cards)

• An Altoid box (to put small altar items into; can be painted and decorated on the inside)

• Relabeled Oil Droppers (spell oils but with label crossed out or replaced)

• Herbal soaps, lotions, oils and bath soaks

• Dried Flowers and Fruit

• Tea Bags (herbs)

• Kitchen seasonings

• Herbal Hair Care

• Kitchen witchery isn’t a tool but it is a very secretive form of magick

• Wreaths

#4 - Shower/Bath Magick

For some, the bathroom is the only time they have a moment of peace, quiet, and privacy, so if you cannot openly practice, a good way to be able to be witchy is to do a lot of spellwork in the shower, using your soap scents and ingredients as your herbs, using your lotions and skincare as a way to set intentions while visualizing, and even using it to cleanse if you are not allowed to smoke cleanse or even use sprays. You can do protective baths by bathing in rosemary, even if it’s rosemary from the kitchen cabinet. To do a money spell you can make a money sugar scrub or put some thyme or cinnamon in your soap to wash yourself in success and $$$!

#5 - Color Magick

A great way to do a quick manifestation or spell is to dress in the color of the intention you are trying to manifest. Using color correspondances can really boost an intention. So if you desire self love, wear pink or white, if you are wanting to connect more on a spiritual level or are working on your senses, wear purple, if you are looking for someone to tell you the truth, wear blue, to ward off negativity and protect yourself, wear black 🤍

#6 - Placing water, crystals, or spellwork in the window ceil instead of outside!

To keep any questions at bay, if a spell, crystal, water or working requires going outside or being charged in the moon, it is okay to place it in a window ceil to keep your practice secretive and safe! The working, water, crystals, or spell will know what it needs to do after you tell it! 🤍

#7 - Trying to see Magic in Everyday Life!

Practice presence by making the world your altar! Some witches do not use tools or even perform spells. It is possible to use yourself as your main energy conductor for bending and energy at your will! Practicing working with energy without any tools! You may learn many things about yourself in the process!
